Colvin, Weaver & Cerniglia is a full service law firm that was founded September 1, 1998. The firm maintains offices in New Orleans, Homer and Shreveport, Louisiana enabling it to geographically serve clients from all areas of the State effectively, efficiently and economically. The firm's goal is to provide the highest quality, personalized legal service available at a reasonable price. History/Mission
Colvin, Weaver & Cerniglia ("Colvin Weaver"), was created with the goal of providing specialized, individualized service to its clients. Colvin Weaver is able to offer all of the services of a large, fully integrated law firm, while at the same time offering the personal services that make the client feel that its particular legal needs are the most important issues with which the firm is dealing.
For business and corporate clients, Colvin Weaver offers a simple formula. With each of its business and corporate clients, the firm takes the time to learn and understand the client's business fully so that when a problem or need arises, the lawyers are well-versed in the client's operations and understand the import of the problem presented. An attorney responsible for a client remains responsible for that client throughout the firm's representation. This means that, unlike large firms where work is passed off to associates and other attorneys with whom the client may not be familiar, a Colvin Weaver client maintains an ongoing relationship with the counsel originally responsible for that client. That is not to say that the individual specialties of the members of the firm will not be called upon from time to time to aid in dealing with a client's problems. Instead, clients deal with the responsible lawyer, who in turn, interacts with other members of the firm who happen to be working on the client's particular issue.
Colvin Weaver believes that a complete understanding of a client's business is essential if high quality legal representation is to be provided. For this reason, our firm will come to understand your business and business needs, and educate ourselves as to issues facing your particular business sector or industry. The client is not charged for such education; however, as Colvin Weaver does not believe that a client should have to pay for the "learning curve." These personalized touches that Colvin Weaver brings to its clients foster the confidence that the firm is able to handle all legal needs, no matter how sophisticated or simple.
For individuals, Colvin Weaver is not the large, impersonal law firm which is only interested in getting the client in and out. Instead, Colvin Weaver takes the time to meet and talk with the client to better understand the issues in order to provide the very best legal advice for the lowest possible fee. Colvin Weaver does not believe in assigning numerous lawyers to an issue which should be handled by one; and again, Colvin Weaver believes in a client maintaining an ongoing relationship with a particular lawyer in the firm who is most familiar with that client. When interviewing new clients, Colvin Weaver always obtains home telephone numbers as well as business telephone numbers, e-mail when available, pagers or cellular telephone numbers so that the attorney knows how to get in touch with the client when the client needs us, even if it is after hours. Colvin Weaver also provides its clients with the attorneys' pager and cellular telephone numbers as well as our home telephone numbers so that we are accessible at all times. Colvin Weaver believes that this access enhances our ability to deliver the highest quality of legal service available.
